KC100 by Guilherme Medeiros - Precision Condenser Microphone
The KC100 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a uniform, frequency-independent cardioid polar pattern.
Developed in partnership with musician Guilherme Medeiros, it is ideal for those looking for sound transparency and absolute fidelity when capturing instruments. With very low internal noise and high resistance to high sound pressures, the KC100 is perfectly suited to a wide range of applications - from classical piano to drums, string instruments, wind instruments, vocals and amplifiers. Its off-axis performance is exceptional, making it ideal for stereo (X/Y) techniques. What's more, its compact and discreet design is perfect for use in TV and radio broadcasts. "I've always been very concerned with capturing sound as it really is - especially when it comes to the drum kit or the string instruments in an orchestra. These timbres have a richness and personality that don't deserve to be colored or compressed.
When we designed the KC100, I wanted a microphone that simply disappeared from the equation: that didn't put its signature on top of the instrument's tone, but let the instrument shine through as it really is.
Today, the KC100 is exactly that - a microphone that doesn't try to impress with exaggeration, but rather with fidelity, transparency and naturalness. It was born out of the desire to hear pure sound, straight from the source. And that's why it bears my name."
